About Us  Salder
Limitada specialises in the development and production of products that
repel mosquitoes and other biting-insects. Salder's principal products,
all of which are formulated as soaps, are NOPIKEX®
(a repellent for topical use), IMPREGNET® (for
the application of insecticide to clothing and mosquito nets) PIOTOX®
(a treatment for head-lice) and
introducing our
new product KARRANKIL® (a treatment for scabies). Prevailing research on the part of scientists and governments concerned with the increasing difficulty in the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases was our motivation to begin in the early 1980's to work with a low cost, highly effective insect repellent suited to mass administration. Recognising the significant need for a product with these characteristics Salder was founded to produce and commercialise the repellent as NOPIKEX®. Since then we have dedicated ourselves to successfully demonstrating NOPIKEX®'s effectiveness through rigorous field tests funded by such prestigious organisations as the World Health Organisation, UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR), the British Medical Research Council, The US National Institutes of Health, European Community Commission Special Programme for the Sciences, Research and Development, among others. In December of 1,993, an agreement to market and distribute Salder's products was signed with one of Colombia's largest and oldest laboratories. The success of this strategic association by far surpassed all expectations, and resulted in sales increases of more than 1,000% from 1,994 to June 2006. Next, in recognition of the continued and significant need for personal protection against biting-insects, we concentrated our efforts in the formulation of a similarly effective and low cost product to simplify the treatment of mosquito nets and clothing. In 1997 we began to produce and commercialise IMPREGNET®. Together NOPIKEK® and IMPREGNET® represent a significant advance in the provision of low cost and effective personal protection against biting-insects, thus preventing MALARIA, DENGUE and other vector-borne diseases. Salder's aim is to make them as widely available as possible, and to this end we welcome enquiries from companies interested in distributing our products. |
